1.
When I look to the west, the blue star crowns the zodiac Then I look to the east, the shadows grow and fade to black So I look to the north, the black bear sleeps until the spring And I look to the south, the unknown forces beckoning Con guitarra y bongo! Sombra, sombra, sombra del a hongo go When I look to the sky, a thousand suns stare back at me Then I look to the ground, it fairly reeks of potency So I look to the folk, I see myself inside their eyes And I look deep within, and find that blue star soon to rise!

While the mermaid swims, she does dance within the diamond water Soon she spreads her fins, moving just like Mother Nature’s daughter Underneath the waves, lurking, hides a world of secret wonder In her jeweled caves, singing sea songs like aquatic thunder 99 leagues below the sea, 99 leagues, where she must be 99 leagues below the sea, 99 leagues, mermaid shanty She can see your feet, as you wade into her em’rald queendom Longs she for sun’s heat, only true love’s kiss can win her freedom
3.
Through the arch, by the twos and twelves. It’s the march of the robot elves. “Les elfes de robot! Les elfes de robot!” Full of starch, true to their own selves. It’s the march of the robot elves. Wand of larch, from the secret delves. It’s the march of the robot elves.
4.
"Were thy hair yet a magic carpet, Forthwith to fly wouldest you and I. Above branches weighted down with leaves of pale green, In search of sights by mortal eyes still left unseen. We are two, this world is infinite in things to see and do. If that magic carpet has a room next to you With a pillow to rest our heads when day is through Magic carpet Wake, dear, and know the world below, Just they with wings rightly see such things. Faded the worries gazed from heights climbed through belief, Where golden birds through silver clouds fly without relief. Magic carpet We are two, this world is infinite in things to see and do Magic carpet, magic, magic carpet"

Leprechaun man, don’t go away Leprechaun man, won’t you please stay Leprechaun man, as is foretold: Bring ye to me, your pot of gold First we drove to Tucson where the weed is cheap and good Then we went west to a town called Hollywood In the mirror there appeared a face like a ghost So we headed north up the California coast On the streets of Felton we met an enchanting man Showed us the world in the palm of his wee hand Told us of a nearby place where shines the gold stone So we followed him to a forest overgrown The woods grew dark & dank as the sun rolled cross the sky Yet he led on with a smile in his eye Doffing his red cap, well, it was just as we feared With a toothy grin that glad man disappeared
6.
"A thousand years away In a time unlike today Before her mane turned white Her gold tresses lit the night Song of the golden unicorn Gold as spring rays of sun Gold the truth that’s owned by none Gold her coat when she’s born Gold her heart ‘neath ivory horn Song of the golden unicorn As night follows the day The old scythe shall swing and slay Where once she ran so free Silent now the woods empty Song of the golden unicorn"

Have you got it yet? Hope you don’t regret Have you got it yet? Then please don’t forget What Syd did. ‘Cause that’s why he hid and lived like a kid. Have you got it yet? Eight-track & cassette Have you got it yet? Stay out of the net Like Syd did. And slid off the grid into his own id. There were many posters, hanging on the wall There were many stories, of the rise and fall Careerist mothers, posed as your brothers Got rich from your woes, like wolves in sheeps’ clothes Have you got it yet?

"Maitreya" 03:01
Maitreya walking around, prophesied on the wind Tuneful song for Maitreya Maitreya walking around, desires he does rescind You may know where I’m going, but you don’t know what it took I been around the world & to the moon’s grey sea You may think that you know me cause the way that I look You don’t know me Maitreya walking around, meditates on the lotus Tuneful song for Maitreya Maitreya walking around, he came here to save us

Behind the shadow play, beneath red & white helm, it’s another realm Telepathic corridors, snaking through all time & space Deep & wide & etched with tales, reflect thoughts in dreams I face They disappear when day is here Hidden, liveth the fae, busy by the wych elm, in the other realm Give in & drift away, let it just overwhelm, there’s another realm
10.
"When faeries sprout wings and fly, Hither and yon, here there and gone, Oh me, oh you, oh my. All through the valley, a song, Hark and all shall sing along. Strange things roam in twilight’s gloam. When faeries sprout wings and fly, Where do they go, beyond this row? Oh me, oh you, oh my. A ring in midair, a dance, Circle to the right, hold hands. Strange things roam in twilight’s gloam. When faeries sprout wings and fly, Wonder they too: just what do we do? Oh me, oh you, oh my. Through doors into rooms, walking, Whispering secrets, talking. Strange things roam in twilight’s gloam."

With a great forest hard along the side, Where the gold birds nest & hide Perched along long limbs of dark black oak, Flying under midnight’s cloak Shining so brightly when the moon is full, yet by day invisible Sage is the searcher who seeks its sight, steep the slope to climb its height There is no castle, neither king nor queen There’s only the mountain, whose far side’s yet unseen Glass mountain High at the peak, there grows an apple tree, Whose red fruit is bittersweet To know both tastes is to know one truth, Passeth all as passeth youth If you dare eat then of its storied seed, visions inside shall be freed Journey to the heart of Glass Mountain & see without from within

about

"Folk Songs of the American Wood Elf" is part two of Toadstool Shadow's three-part fairy tale opera. Bunny is now 19. This time, he deliberately goes back under the toadstool. He wants to revisits the visionary landscape of his youth to learn if it's real, imaginary, or a dream. The album is also the soundtrack to the trippy 40-minute movie of the same name.

about

Toadstool Shadow Chillicothe, Ohio

“[Rainbow Nights] is one of the most creative things I’ve heard in a long time,” -Lauren Goldstien, www.girlattherockshows.com. Toadstool Shadow believes that there is another realm, hiding in plain sight. To illustrate this concept, they are creating an all-original three-part fairy tale opera. Part two, "Folk Songs of the American Wood Elf," is both a movie and an album. ... more
